12/19/14 Missy has muddy feet atleast once a day after she helps feed horses.

12/31/14 Missy has several of her own cushioned beds, but prefers to fall asleep on her mommies jacket.

10/30/14 Missy had to bury the hoof clippings so no one else would take them.

3/9/14 A day of firsts; first time Big has ever had a bit in his mouth. Bit was required for safety clinic participation.

3/9/14 First time Big ever saw himself in a mirror. The clinic arena has a couple mirrors and he would always stop and watch himself.

1/29/14 Horseshoer has been here; Missy out collecting hoof trimmings.

2/6/14 Missy is hiding under the covers and refusing to get out of bed.

1/25/14 Missy had been barking at something behind the house all morning. At daybreak, we saw two young deer eating in the back pasture.

1/25/14 These two deer hung around the neighborhood all year. In the summer, they had babies and continue to hang around with their babies in 2015.

09/20/13 When we are out hunting wild mushrooms, Missy got her tail caught in a branch that would not let go of her.

09/24/12 We found these beautiful young Boletus edulis mushrooms and Missy was giving her quarters worth by licking her lips. The coin on the mushroom is a quarter.

09/11/13 We were picking wild blue huckleberries and Missy can eat them faster than we can pick them.

09/11/13 So we make her pick her own; at which, she does very well.

08/05/13 Missy eating her birthday cake. It was white chocolate with raspberry filling amd whipped cream frosting.

07/31/13 This raccoon got caught eating Barncats food. While he waited for us to relocate him to his new home deeper into the forest, he tore appart the trap.

07/29/13 Commotion at the barn when we came back from our ride. A young buck had jumped though Dollys paddock and she had chased him into this empty paddock between her and Diva.

07/29/13 We were surprised when he jumped towards us and watched as he ran down the fence line. We expected him to jump the gate and go on out towards the forest.

07/29/13 Again we were shocked when he turned and ran toward us.

07/29/13 He ducked his horns and went right under the fence. Guess he had jumped enough fences for one day.

07/24/13 Debi with her new horse Diva. They visited for a few weeks while Debi finished fencing her pasture.

07/26/13 A young hawk perched just off the trail. It flew ahead on the trail several times, watching us closely as we rode along.

03/30/13 Dixi after about a month at the ranch. She is still shaggy from her winter hair.

03/14/13 Magic with her filly just after being rescured. She was seperated from her filly and brought to the ranch about two days later.

03/30/13 Magic looks better, but still ragged after two weeks of good regular feeding.

On 12/6/12, Debie (our trail guide) fell in the yard and broke her arm. Severe complications disabled her arm and hand for several months. Just as she was adapting and getting back into the saddle, she did it again. On 6/5/13 (six months after the first broken arm), Debie fell and broke her arm AGAIN. This time it was a compound fracture. The good news - the surgery was able to fix complications from the first break and put her back into the saddle sooner.

On 12/6/12, Debie (our trail guide) fell in the yard and broke her arm with complications. This delayed all rides for the next several months.

11/01/12 After a long night of rain, all the mud in Bigs coat makes him look a different color.

10/13/12 We purchased a bigger trailer so that we could haul all the horses to the trailheads.

01/20/12 These pictures were taken at the start of the big ice storm. It started with snow about eight inches deep and then rain which froze into ice. Rain turning to ice continued for a couple more days. Lots of tree limbs and tree tops came down in the yard. Even more came down and blocked the ranch trails.
