Echo River Ranch specializes in renting well mannered horses and guiding them at a walk over a wide variety of trails out of local trailheads. For extra horse fun, we sponsor several specialty and experience rides.

We are having so much fun guiding trail rides, we don't have any time for standard lessons or training of young horses; lesson and training services are no longer available.

Guided Trail Riding & Trail Rides

trail riding picture All trail rides are guided and all riding is done at a walk. Beginners and advanced riders alike, enjoy riding our horses.

Horses can be rented by the hour, afternoon, day, or a few days that include some overnight camping.

We have designed a variety of specialized rides and events to entertain riders of all ages. Some of the specialized rides and events include the egg hunts, trick n treat rides, scavenger hunts, dinner rides, prize rides, and more...

Trail Guide for Hire

trail guide picture Riders supplying their own horse are welcome to join us on most trail rides. We do not have a "haul-in fee" at the ranch; haul-ins are riders who provide their own horse (rather than riding a horse rented from the ranch). We do have a "participation fee" for haul-ins that ride a sponsored specialty ride.

We will also meet other riders (haul-ins) at any of the local trailheads and guide them over the trails.

Trailheads

picture of a trailhead There are several trails available for shorter (1-2 hour) rides out of the ranch and they easily accommodate many of our specialty rides.

We also haul to the many local trailheads to offer a longer or a more varied trail experience. Each of these trailheads has its own distinctive terrain and various trails to provide a unique riding experience.

Calendar of Scheduled Rides & Events

picture of a calendar Many of our specialty rides are seasonal, so we are able to offer a tentative schedule of planned rides and events.

Horses are available for rental all year, especially on those days without planned rides or events. Feel free to contact us and schedule a ride or discuss your riding needs.

Confidence on Horseback & Lessons for Beginning Riders

              ~ this service is no longer available ~

lesson picture All lessons have been cancelled due to client and instructor boredom from the horse going around and around and around and around in circles.

             Riders can easily learn basic riding skills during any guided trail ride
                where the scenery is both more beautiful and more challenging.

     We reserve the right to refuse lesson service.

     

     

Groundwork & Basic Training for Young Horses

              ~ this service is no longer available ~

training picture All training of horses owned by other persons has been cancelled due to clients learning far more and gaining better respect by working with their own horses.

       Horse owners are welcome to join us at the ranch and learn basic groundwork
   skills on our horses and get assistance in transfering those skills to their own horse.

                       $20 per hour suggested donation.

     We reserve the right to refuse training service.
